The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) administers programs that involve the cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated properties to achieve a healthier, cleaner, and more productive environment for Michigan's citizens. EGLE offers grants and loans for environmental assessments and cleanups at properties with known or suspected contamination to local governments and Brownfield Redevelopment Authorities. Funds are targeted to projects that promote economic development and the reuse of Brownfield properties.
